Measurement Taking!

Rajyan taking my waist measurement
Well, no much to measure on the bustline (*_^)

Woot!! It's time for my gown measurement. (^_^) Our uniform room tailor was so kind enough to take my measurements using the guide that Garrey send me via email. I've been coming back and forth for the past three days at the village looking for the female tailor. Luckily we caught her today!

Meanwhile, Noel doesn't want to stop taking pictures. Which I now appreciate since I am able to share it now. It's nice that he was able to accompany me going to the tailor because it made the experience more fun!

We just had lunch before coming to the tailor and I made sure that my measurements will be the biggest that I can be as I think it would be easier for Garrey to adjust it later on than to have it too tight for me on our wedding day. Of course, the last thing a bride would want is to look like "suman" right?

Rajyan said "Tag me on Facebook ok?"

Side story: Noel & I are actually elated as we just booked our flights as well and we got a good deal from Cleartrip.ae. We were able to book flights for the two of us at the price for one via Etihad Airways! Hehehe! Thank God to our youngest Ninang Mimi who generously lend her Visa credit card to us since the promotion is for Visa card holders only and our debit card is also not going through. It was God's blessings as there was only 4 seats left on sale!

Marriage Preparation

Ptr. Ruel discussing the last topic
At last! The last leg of our pre-marriage seminar concluded yesterday. Well, somehow we miss it... ('_') But as Pastor Ruel said, this seminars that we are required to attend is not to prepare us for the wedding but instead to prepare us for the life after the wedding.

So here goes:

LESSON 4: KNOW YOUR PRIORITIES

In making any decisions we should always know our priorities. Listing your set of priorities according to importance is essential as this keeps us in track of what should be done and still to be done. This is most especially true not only during the wedding preparation but through married life. Being both Christians, Noel & I both agreed to follow this set of priorities: God, Spouse, Children, Work and Ministry. Place God as the first priority and as the center of your relationship, we'll surely never go wrong. (^_^)

Sub-Topic: ROMANCE & INTIMACY - How to have romance in your marriage
  1. Recognize & remove hindrances out of God's way such as selfishness, unresolved issues, fear, wrong priorities and self-sufficiency
  2. Have meaningful conversations
  3. Abound in grace
  4. Nurture & Cherish one another
  5. Be consistent in the little things you do for your spouse
  6. Enjoy each other (^_^)
LESSON 5: LOYALTY & FAITHFULNESS
  • Loyalty and faithfulness means staying together AT ALL COST. (We'll definitely make sure of this one!)
  • Loyalty and faithfulness means fulfilling your spouse's needs at all times.
  • Loyalty and faithfulness means seeking help instead of seeking a way out. (Divorce or Separation should never be an option)
LESSON 6: WHAT MAKES A WEDDING CHRISTIAN?

Out of all the points on this lesson, one thing really struck us...

A WEDDING IS A COVENANT WITNESSED BY HEAVEN AND EARTH! This is much larger than two people talking to or loving each other. God is present and the covenant is witnessed by heaven and earth alike whether you only have 10 guests or 1000 guests. Bear in mind that God is the guest of honor as He is honored when two mature individuals enter into marriage according to His will.

Let's bear in mind that the WEDDING CEREMONY is the main event and has more significance than the reception that follows. So.. let's not fuss too much on details. (*_^)

And there it goes.. Happy wedding preparations leading to happy married life!

I vandalized Noel's name badge while it's on his chest! Art huh?

I was browsing through our wedding stuff today and saw this cute primer of ours again.. Primer since we are still planning to send another Save The Date at least three months before our wedding.

For overseas couples like us it is always advisable to send your Save The Dates early especially if most of your guests will be coming from overseas, like most of our guest.. (^_^)

Seeing this again brings excitement to me! I can't believe how time flies so fast.. Haisst! Few more months to go!

A bridesmaids must read

I saw this post from my w@w sis Roselle's Facebook page. This is awesome stuff! If only all the bridesmaids follow this tips, stress for the brides would definitely be cut half ;)

For our side, we chose very carefully in selecting our entourage. Noel & I agreed we will choose those who have significance and won't just be there to wear the dress. Each one of our entourage have special places in our hearts and contributions to what we are now. So, it turned out.. All the bridesmaids are from my friends side and all the groomsmen are from his side of friends. So, to our entourage go and mingle with our other half. (*_^)

Happy reading!

Preparing for a lifetime

Finally I am writing my first post! We have been engaged since November 2011 and have been busy preparing for the wedding and too bad I never get the chance to document the first few months. :(  Still, I am so happy that this will be the first post I will make as this is really helpful not only for Noel & I but to all the couples whether soon-to-wed or married couples already. All the hunt and the preps is so exciting.. and what we didn't expect is that attending this Pre-Marriage Seminar will heighten the excitement all the more!!! :))

This is just the first part.

Lesson 1: LEAVE
When you marry, leave your parents for your spouse in order to become physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually independent.
Should I say more on this one?

Lesson 2: COMMUNICATION and ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ironically, in spite of all the communication tools and advanced technology around us couples still fail to communicate. Most even believe that being together or on BB, Twitter or Facebook 24 hours with your partner strengthens the bond. This includes Noel & I of course.. But when you realize the real meaning of 'communication' then everything else changes. : )) And guess what? Through communication, we realized that this also helps us realize each others roles and responsibilities. :)

Lesson 3: HANDLING FINANCES, Budgeting & Victory over debt
Oh, how we love this lesson! We were so excited about this one that on our way home we are already talking about our finances and how we should handle it with the grace of God. :))

We will have the last leg next week. Yehey!!

Our home church here in Dubai, Victory, has helped us greatly in both of our spiritual and personal lives. After having this seminar we appreciated more having this opportunity to have a long wedding preparation. :)) And still enjoying it.. ;)
